Alvys at a glance

Alvys is a cloud TMS with roots in carriers and asset-based brokerages. Founder Nick Darman started an asset-based brokerage in 2014, built software to run it, and launched that software as Alvys in 2020. The company is based in Solana Beach, California, raised a $40M Series B in September 2025, and has raised $77M in total.

The product covers dispatch, a freight marketplace, a driver mobile app, compliance and safety, invoicing, IFTA reporting, and driver, agent and carrier settlements. Alvys lists 120+ integrations “at no extra cost,” including DAT, Truckstop, QuickBooks, MacroPoint, RMIS, Highway, Samsara, Motive and Orderful for EDI. It sells to carriers, brokers, hybrid brokers and private fleets.

Alvys pricing

The Alvys pricing page says its TMS “starts at only $3.95/load” with unlimited users, and asks buyers to request a custom quote (as of September 10, 2026). Detailed tiers aren’t published. The page promises “No sneaky fees. Cancel anytime,” and Alvys advertises no long-term contracts. Capterra shows “$500 per user, per month,” which conflicts with the vendor’s per-load model, so rely on the vendor figure.

AI features

Alvys Intelligence parses documents, including rate con uploads, and answers plain-English questions about loads, revenue and drivers. Foundry, an agent builder announced on August 17, 2026 with more than 20 templates for tasks like check calls and detention notices, was rolling out in cohorts with a waitlist open for the second cohort.

What reviewers say

Alvys rates 4.4/5 on Capterra (51 reviews) and 4.7/5 on G2 (18 reviews) as of September 10, 2026. A Capterra reviewer wrote that “The Driver Mobile App is fantastic.” Complaints are mostly about stability. One Capterra reviewer reported “Frequent crashes and glitches significantly hinder productivity,” another cited “Syncing issues with QuickBooks Online (QBO),” and a third wrote “Every day there is a bug or an update.” G2 reviewers mention mandatory updates, limited customization for small businesses, and cost for smaller operations.

Searches for Alvys pricing and reviews usually come from buyers checking fit before a demo, or from customers weighing a switch. Four reasons come up in the public record.

• Carrier-first design. Alvys’s deepest features serve fleets: driver app, IFTA, maintenance and settlements. A non-asset broker may pay for a product shaped around work it doesn’t do.
• Per-load pricing at volume. At the advertised starting rate, 1,000 loads a month would cost $3,950. Real quotes may differ, but brokers with growing volume tend to model per-load, per-user and flat pricing side by side. Our TMS pricing guide walks through that math.
• Stability complaints. Crash, bug and QuickBooks sync complaints appear in Capterra reviews. The review counts are small, so treat them as items to test in a trial.
• Agents still rolling out. Foundry was in a cohort rollout in August 2026. Buyers who want AI agents working now compare what other vendors are shipping.

A load can’t be dispatched until the latest rate con version is signed, can’t reach Freight On Board without a BOL and freight photos, and can’t be marked Delivered without a POD and the signer’s full name. • Live today: load board, multi-stop load entry, customer and carrier CSV import, carrier booking with swap history, versioned rate cons on your letterhead, alerts, tasks, a billing queue with customer billing rules, and an append-only audit log.
• Load Market tracking on the load, with an ETA from the truck’s last position checked against the carrier’s appointment: green, yellow or red. Tracking that goes quiet for 45 minutes gets flagged.
• Flat monthly pricing, which is easy to model against a per-load rate.

Drawbacks

• New, with one design-partner customer (Bronco Logistics) and no public review history.
• No driver app, IFTA, settlements or carrier pay. The carrier TMS is in early access.
• AI load intake, QuickBooks Online and email notifications are in development. The AI agent program is live. DAT, Truckstop, RMIS and EDI are planned, not live.

• Covers carriers and brokers, with driver apps, compliance monitoring and a customer portal, so hybrid operations can run on one system.
• AI agents are included on every plan: TED turns customer emails into orders, Rosie gives record-level answers, and Rocky builds workflows.
• “Guaranteed go-live in 90 days” on the Full Service Platform, with white-glove implementation.
• 4.4/5 on Capterra (35 reviews, listed as TMS.AI). One reviewer wrote “Customer service has been the one of the biggest assets.”

Drawbacks

• The $2,080 entry price is steep for a small brokerage.
• A Capterra reviewer wrote that integration with other systems “is still being developed and has been a slow progress.”
• Another reviewer said reporting “doesn’t give your flexibility to create reports.”
• Implementation fee and contract length aren’t public.

AscendTMS: low per-user price, no contract

Best for: Small brokers and carriers who want to sign up today, pay month to month, and keep the software bill low.

Starting price: $69/user/mo (Basic), $119/user/mo (Premium) or $149/user/mo (Pro), as of September 10, 2026 (AscendTMS pricing).

Strengths

• “No Contracts. No Setup Fees. No Credit Card Needed.” Ascend says it never charges for drivers, trucks or loads.
• Broker, carrier and shipper feature sets in one product, with DAT and Truckstop search and posting inside the TMS (your own subscription required).
• AscendAI features included free since May 2026.
• 4.9/5 on Capterra across 367 reviews. A reviewer called it “very user-friendly with strong integrations.”

Drawbacks

• Per-user pricing climbs with headcount. Ten users on Pro is $1,490 a month.
• A Capterra reviewer noted you’re “Not able to have multiple ascend screens open at the same time with different filters.”
• Another wrote “you can only upload one doc at a time.”
• The AscendAI release doesn’t name specific agents, so ask for a demo of what the AI does.

McLeod Software: LoadMaster for carriers, PowerBroker for brokers

Best for: Mid-market and enterprise carriers and brokers that need deep dispatch, integrated accounting and EDI, with on-prem or hosted options.

Starting price: Not published, as of September 10, 2026. Pricing comes through a sales quote (McLeod Software).

Strengths

• Founded in 1985 and owned by its founder and management team, with 1,200+ active customers claimed.
• Separate carrier (LoadMaster) and broker (PowerBroker) products, plus built-in EDI, accounting and document imaging.
• More than 260 off-the-shelf integrations, per McLeod, and AI through RespondAI plus Augment’s agent inside PowerBroker.
• A Capterra reviewer called it “one of the most all-encompassing TMS systems.”

Drawbacks

• LoadMaster rates 3.7/5 on Capterra (16 reviews). One reviewer wrote it’s “Very complicated, not easy to use at all.”
• Another wrote “It is very very expensive.”
• No public pricing, implementation timeline or contract terms.

Ten4 Intelligence: low-cost carrier TMS with voice AI

Best for: Small carriers, dispatchers and owner-operators who want a cheap carrier TMS and AI calls to drivers.

Strengths

• The lowest published carrier entry price on this page.
• Voice AI agents for driver check-up calls and appointment confirmations.
• A document scanner and tracking app for drivers, plus a Chrome extension for DAT One and Trucker Path.

Drawbacks

• Early-stage: no G2 or Capterra listing found, and the Android app shows 100+ downloads.
• The broker product is newer and lighter on EDI and compliance.
• Voice minutes are prepaid credits on top of the plan.

Don’t confuse Ten4 Intelligence with ten4.ai, a separate company that builds custom software for small carriers.

Port TMS: multimode broker TMS with native agents

Best for: Brokers and 3PLs moving truckload, LTL, intermodal or drayage who want named AI agents at a low entry price.

How to choose an Alvys alternative

Start with the question Alvys answers best: do you run trucks?

• You run a fleet or a hybrid operation. Shortlist Rose Rocket, McLeod LoadMaster and Ten4 Intelligence. Ask each to demo driver settlements and IFTA with a week of your own loads.
