Where Turvo is strong
Turvo calls itself “The world’s leading transportation management software with a collaborative layer that unifies people, processes, and data.” In practice, that’s one platform shared by a brokerage, its shippers and its carriers.
- Collaboration across companies. The Turvo Collaboration Cloud gives partners a shared view of shipments, with inventory and warehouse visibility on top.
- Enterprise credibility. Turvo names Fortune 500 logistics providers and shippers as customers, alongside small and mid-sized brokers, and it powers RyderShare.
- Onboarding included. The $5,000/mo plan on the Turvo pricing page includes a dedicated onboarding manager, virtual training, data migration, a support center, and Turvo Community and Academy.
- Breadth beyond brokerage. Appointment scheduling, analytics, a driver app and an Integration Hub.
- AI through a partner. On October 30, 2025, Turvo announced a partnership with Augment to embed “Augie,” Augment’s AI teammate, for order-to-cash work.
On G2, reviewers mention “time-saving document generation.” Criticism includes slow help responses, difficulty with high-volume accounts, and one reviewer’s “1+ year long onboarding.” That’s one review, not a pattern, but it’s worth asking about. Our Turvo alternatives page covers other options.
Where FreightVero is different
The price floor
Turvo starts at $5,000/mo. FreightVero Starter is $349/mo, Growth is $749/mo with unlimited loads, and Scale starts at $1,500/mo with unlimited users. No plan charges per load. For a brokerage with a handful of desks, that gap settles the shortlist before features do. Plan details are on the pricing page.
Four checkpoints enforced at the database level, not a UI setting
Every FreightVero status change runs through one database function, and the status column is protected from direct edits.
- Alerted needs an active carrier, an approved compliance status on the carrier record, driver and truck details, and tracking accepted.
- Carrier Dispatched needs the latest rate con version signed, with the signed copy uploaded.
- Freight On Board needs a BOL and freight photos.
- Delivered needs a POD and the signer’s first and last name.
Turvo’s public pages focus on collaboration and visibility rather than hard stops. We haven’t tested its configuration options, so ask in your demo. See how the checkpoints work.
Custom development
Turvo is a platform you adopt as it is. FreightVero also offers custom TMS development for brokerages whose process doesn’t fit a packaged product. The Bronco Logistics build went from its first database migration on Aug 28, 2026 to live Load Market tracking on Sept 3, 2026.
What FreightVero doesn’t have
No shipper collaboration layer, no warehouse or inventory visibility, no appointment scheduling and no driver app. The customer portal is in early access. The AI agent program is live from $1,995/mo, and AI load intake is live.

Switching from Turvo
Brokerages that leave an enterprise platform usually give something up. Know what before you start.
- Turvo includes data migration in its plan. FreightVero imports customers and carriers from CSV, and there’s no open-load import.
- Shippers who log into Turvo to follow their freight won’t have an equivalent on day one. The customer portal is in early access.
- project44 and DAT are planned in FreightVero, not live. Load Market tracking is live on Growth and up.
- Turvo’s contract terms aren’t public. Read your agreement for renewal and notice dates.
We scope every move on a demo call and don’t publish an implementation timeline. The TMS migration page explains what we’ll ask for.
