Where Alvys is strong
Alvys grew out of a working operation. Founder Nick Darman started an asset-based brokerage in 2014, built software to run it, and turned that software into Alvys in 2020. That history shows in the product.
- Carrier and fleet depth. A driver mobile app with document scanning and e-checks, compliance and safety records for drivers, trucks and trailers, IFTA reporting, and driver, agent and carrier settlements.
- Integrations. Alvys lists 120+ integrations “at no extra cost,” including DAT, Truckstop, QuickBooks, MacroPoint, RMIS, Highway, Samsara and Motive, plus native EDI and a public API.
- AI you can use today. Alvys Intelligence parses documents, including rate con uploads, and answers plain-language questions about loads, revenue and drivers. The Foundry agent builder, announced August 17, 2026, ships with 20+ agent templates and is rolling out in cohorts.
- Low buying friction. Unlimited users, a “Try for free” signup and a stated no long-term contracts policy.
- Funding and reach. $77M raised and a claimed 2,000+ companies.
Reviewers mostly agree. A Capterra reviewer wrote “The Driver Mobile App is fantastic.” The Capterra complaints center on stability and accounting sync, with reviewers citing “Syncing issues with QuickBooks Online (QBO)” and “Every day there is a bug or an update.” If Alvys is on your shortlist, our Alvys alternatives page covers other options too.
Where FreightVero is different
Checkpoints enforced at the database level, not a UI setting
Every FreightVero status change runs through one database function. The status column is protected, so the app, an integration, or someone typing SQL can’t move a load past a checkpoint whose proof is missing.
- Alerted: an active carrier assignment, an approved compliance status on the carrier record, driver and truck details, and tracking accepted.
- Carrier Dispatched: the latest rate con version is signed. If the rate changes after signature, the new version needs its own signed copy uploaded.
- Freight On Board: a BOL and freight photos.
- Delivered: a POD plus the signer’s first and last name.
Many TMSs let you mark documents as required. We haven’t tested how Alvys handles that, so ask in your demo where the rule lives. See how FreightVero’s checkpoints work.
Flat plans instead of per-load pricing
Alvys pricing moves with your load count. FreightVero’s Growth plan is $749/mo for 15 users and unlimited loads. At Alvys’s advertised $3.95 starting rate, 190 loads a month comes to about $750. Your actual Alvys quote may differ, so run your own numbers against the FreightVero pricing page.
Built for brokers, and buildable for yours
FreightVero’s live product is a broker TMS. Screens center on carrier sales, dispatch, rate cons and billing, not trucks and drivers. If you want a TMS shaped around your exact process, custom TMS development is a live service. The Bronco Logistics build went from its first database migration on Aug 28, 2026 to live Load Market tracking on Sept 3, 2026.
AI, labeled by status
Alvys is ahead on AI you can use today. FreightVero’s AI load intake is in development. It reads rate cons and air-freight delivery orders, drafts a load with the source text behind every field, flags duplicates and revised rates, and waits for a person to confirm. The review screen hasn’t shipped. The AI agent program is live, from $1,995/mo.
Pricing compared
Alvys doesn’t publish tiers, so the comparison is FreightVero’s published plans against Alvys’s advertised starting rate.
| FreightVero | Alvys | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry price | Starter $349/mo: 5 users, 250 loads/mo | Starts at $3.95/load |
| Mid tier | Growth $749/mo: 15 users, unlimited loads, adds live tracking and ETAs, alerts, tasks and messaging, reporting, bulk import | Not published |
| Top tier | Scale from $1,500/mo: unlimited users | Custom quote |
| Users | Set by plan: 5, 15 or unlimited | Unlimited |
| Per-load fees | None on any plan | Pricing is per load |
| AI | Agent program live, from $1,995/mo, priced by load volume and scoped on a call | Alvys Intelligence and Foundry. Pricing not published |
| Billing terms | Monthly prices. Contract terms discussed on the demo call | Monthly or annual plans. “Cancel anytime” |
Pricing as of September 10, 2026. Capterra lists Alvys at “$500 per user, per month,” which conflicts with the vendor’s per-load model. We use the vendor figure.
Switching from Alvys
We scope every move on a demo call. We don’t publish an implementation timeline, because we don’t have a documented one to give you. Here’s what exists today.
- Customers and carriers come over by CSV import.
- Open loads have no import. Plan to finish in-flight loads in Alvys or re-enter them.
- Fleet features such as the driver app, IFTA and driver settlements have no live FreightVero equivalent. Carrier TMS is in early access, so a brokerage running its own trucks should keep a carrier system for now.
- Integrations you rely on in Alvys, like DAT, Truckstop or RMIS, are planned in FreightVero, not live. QuickBooks Online is in development.
- Your contract. Alvys advertises no long-term contracts. Check your own signed agreement before you set a date.
The TMS migration page walks through what we ask for on that call.
Which one fits your brokerage
Choose Alvys if
- You run your own trucks alongside a brokerage and need a driver app, IFTA and settlements
- You need DAT, Truckstop, RMIS, EDI or a public API connected on day one
- You want AI document parsing you can use today
- You’d rather buy from a funded vendor with thousands of customers
- Your volume is low enough that per-load pricing beats a flat plan
Choose FreightVero if
- You’re a non-asset broker and want dispatch blocked until the latest rate con is signed
- You want a flat monthly price with no per-load fees
- You want a TMS built around your own workflow through custom development
- You’re comfortable being an early customer of a new product and want a say in what gets built next
