Where Port TMS is strong
Port TMS pitches “Every mode. Every operation.” It’s one TMS for brokers, 3PLs, 4PLs, shippers and manufacturers. It’s a different company from PortPro, which makes a drayage TMS.
- Multimode. Quoting across TL, partial, LTL and intermodal, plus drayage and small parcel.
- AI agents that ship. Port’s AI page says “Not a roadmap item. Shipping today.” The Coverage Agent handles load-aware carrier outreach, the Procaller Agent runs outbound calls, and the Dispatch Agent answers carrier calls and captures offers. Agents are “trained on your SOPs.”
- A lot included at a low price. Pro at $375/mo includes the core platform, portals, multimode, EDI and API, onboarding, and 3 months of promotional AI agent access, per the Port TMS pricing page.
- Features FreightVero doesn’t have live. E-signatures on rate cons and BOLs, one-click posting to DAT and Truckstop, a white-labeled customer portal, a carrier portal, a mobile app, two-way accounting sync and unlimited document storage.
- Development hours on Enterprise. The Enterprise plan includes 10 hours of development time and managed services.
Port has only 6 reviews on Capterra, so treat them as directional. One reviewer liked how “easy it was to move around in the system.” Another said “Some workflows/views could be tidied up.” Our best TMS for freight brokers list puts Port in a wider field.
Where FreightVero is different
Prices side by side
The entry plans are nearly even. Port Pro is $375/mo for 5 users, and FreightVero Starter is $349/mo for 5 users and 250 loads. Port Growth is $750/mo for up to 12 users, and FreightVero Growth is $749/mo for 15 users and unlimited loads. The difference is in the extras. Port notes that EDI and API charges and a one-time onboarding fee may apply, and its AI pricing after the promotion is set in the proposal. FreightVero plans carry no per-load fees. See FreightVero pricing.
Checkpoints enforced at the database level, not a UI setting
Every FreightVero status change runs through one database function, and the status column is protected from direct edits.
- Alerted: active carrier, approved compliance status on the carrier record, driver and truck details, tracking accepted.
- Carrier Dispatched: latest rate con version signed, with the signed copy uploaded.
- Freight On Board: BOL and freight photos.
- Delivered: POD plus the signer’s first and last name.
We haven’t tested Port’s required-document settings. Ask in the demo whether any user, including an admin, can mark a load delivered without a POD. See how FreightVero handles it.
A custom build instead of development hours
Port’s Enterprise plan includes 10 hours of development time on its platform. FreightVero’s custom TMS development is a separate service that builds a TMS around your process, quoted after a scoping call. The Bronco Logistics build went from its first database migration on Aug 28, 2026 to live Load Market tracking on Sept 3, 2026.
AI status
Port is ahead on AI. Its agents are live. FreightVero’s AI load intake is in development: it reads rate cons and air-freight delivery orders and drafts a load, with the source text behind each field, for a person to confirm. The AI agent program is live from $1,995/mo.

Switching from Port TMS
We scope every move on a demo call and don’t publish an implementation timeline. Here’s what to plan for.
- Records. Customers and carriers import from CSV. There’s no open-load import.
- Modes. FreightVero has no LTL, intermodal, drayage or parcel rating. Keep Port for those modes or choose another TMS.
- Signatures. Carriers sign rate cons outside FreightVero today, and you upload the signed copy.
- Portals. The customer portal is in early access. A carrier portal is planned.
- Integrations. DAT and Truckstop posting, project44 and RMIS are planned. QuickBooks Online is in development. Check the integrations page for current status.
- Contract. Port doesn’t publish a contract term. Check your signed proposal for renewal and notice language.
The TMS migration page lists what to gather first.
